Sample Journal Entry

A sample of my spiritual journaling. I write out my weakness with a few sentences: “Life feels so tremendously challenged right now. I want to stay focused, stay positive. Stay above being overwhelmed with the tragedy but it feels so difficult. I am lost in these moments because I feel like cannot find my way out of the pain. Drowning in my sorrow.”

And then I sit in the silence and tap into a place of higher thinking and see where my pen will take me. It can take practice but when it happens it might look like this: “Life is fragile. It is not meant to be smooth or simple. You have all the power you need at your disposal to to draw upon. Close your eyes and breathe, and cry too if you need. Count if that helps. Give yourself a time to feel what you want to feel. Remember that your pain might feel greater than it actually is because you are in it. Your journey is sometimes difficult but you can do this. You are full of the peace you desire. Focus on one thing at a time, one thing in your life that is working. Focus on all the sides to it that make it special whether it is one person, one event and find all the facets to this blessing. Let that fill you and see if that helps.”
